England is regarded as one of the most beautiful and historically interesting countries in the world. In very few parts of our Earth’s surface is there such a variety of landscape in such a small space. England exhibits marked differences between North and South and between counties. The wild moors of Northumberland and the rugged coastline and sandy surfing beaches of Cornwall, are all less than 350 miles from London.

The villages of England are a vital part of the landscape that has been influenced by mankind over the centuries. The thatched cottages of Dorset and Devon surrounding the village greens and the welcoming pubs and inns and ancient churches, are well represented in my photographs. The honey coloured cottages of the Cotswolds, are typical of English villages, where you can step back in time.
